Overview

Under general direction, performs advanced journey level and leadwork duties in the technical operation, maintenance and repair of various HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing and auxiliary systems. Troubleshoot and diagnose a variety of complex MEP systems in a widely dispersed building. Compensation is $23.64- $24.86/hour.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair problems within the following HVAC/R equipment systems: Heating, ventilation, refrigeration, air conditioning systems and associated equipment such as VRF systems, multi-zone units, electrical controls, pneumatic controls, steam coils, chilled water systems, self-contained heating and cooling units, exhaust systems, ice machines, walk-in freezers/coolers, pumps, air compressors, ductwork, cooling towers and other miscellaneous equipment.
  • Regularly monitor and adjust building automation controls to achieve optimum comfort and energy savings.
  • Participate in the operation, maintenance and repair of diverse facility equipment, minor electrical, lighting, commercial kitchen and plumbing repairs to expedite the return of equipment or auxiliary systems to operational status
  • Performs routine preventative maintenance on equipment; oils and lubricates fans, motors, pumps, compressors, cleans screens, strainers, burners, automatic controls, etc.
  • Track daily productivity via timesheets, daily logs and CMMS.
  • Communicate arrival, location and departure with Engineering Manager.
  • Perform event related duties, set-ups and coverage as assigned
  • Clearly, effectively, and timely communicate work issues with staff
  • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High school diploma (or equivalent) required
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of direct experience in HVAC/R and controls.
  • Experience with computerized building automation systems.
  • Possession of Universal CFC license.
  • CT D-2 license preferred or substitution of technical trade school and experience.
  • Operating knowledge of Microsoft Office software, general computers and understanding of basic IT function.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must have availability to work long hours, nights, weekends and holidays as needed
  • Solid problem solving skills
