Overview

The Beverage Unit Manager (V-Bar/Lucky’s, Cascades, Big City, Floor/High Limits) provides management to all levels of the beverage department and will actively supervise, coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor beverage team in meeting and exceeding company quality standards.

Responsibilities

 

  • Responsible for all aspects of the effective beverage management within a casino environment.
  • Ensures total compliance with all responsible alcohol service policies.
  • Effectively and compliantly addresses any alcohol service or compliance issues; immediately investigates, documents and reports all issues or findings to management.
  • Responsible for completing documentation of employee performance and attendance issues in accordance with company policy and practice.
  • Supervises team members on the proper instructions of alcohol handling, cash handling and workplace safety rules.
  • Provides on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to hourly staff. Monitor product quality and ensures high level of guest service.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting technical problems with MICROS Point of Sale (POS) systems, from both a hardware and software perspective.
  • Responsible for supervising the opening, closing and balancing of any and all accounting practices, as necessary.
  • Generates employee schedules and verifies employee time for all bar outlets.
  • Responsible for the on-going training, development, mentoring and supervision of hourly team members, as directed by department management.
  • Responsible for the management of events from set-up to tear down, including handling all communication with hourly team members and guests.
  • Hands-on approach to serving times, quality and execution.
  • Protects branded concepts through audits and compliance processes.
  • Acts as a mentor and success coach.
  • Stays up-to-date with industry trends. Analyzes shift activity for areas of efficiency or improvement. Seeks opportunity for innovation and upselling. Recommends service or product improvements to management.

 

 

Qualifications

 

 

  • Ability to make smart business decisions and assess business needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Basic computer proficiency in Outlook, Excel, Word; working knowledge of MICROS POS, Stratton Warren, and KRONOS systems.
  • Cash handling abilities; basic math skills including significant number manipulation.
  • Ability to work a variable work schedule (including evenings and weekends, as required) per business needs and demands.
  • Ability to communicate with team members, management team and guest in a clear, business-like and respectful manner which focuses on generating a positive enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to clearly communicate, read and write in English.
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.

Education and Experience:

  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a management/supervisory capacity in a fast-paced bar/restaurant environment preferred.
  • Must have a High School Diploma, G.E.D. and/or related food service job experience.
  • Must obtain and maintain Gila River Environmental Health Food Handlers Card and/or Serve Safe.
  • Must complete annual Alcohol training per the Arizona Liquor License & Controls (LLC) guidelines and certification procedures.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid gaming license from the State Gaming Agency and Tribal Gaming Office prior to beginning work and renew license annually.

Physical Dimensions:

  • Above Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally to move objects (files, boxes, product, and trays). Able to stand for long periods of time throughout the day.
