The Food Runner, also known as expeditors or server assistants, is responsible communication between the Front of House and Back of House in the Restaurant & Suites. This position is to deliver food to guests in a friendly, professional & knowledgeable manner and support the Restaurant & Suites with other duties as directly.  This employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends.



  • Delivering food to guest quickly and efficiently; in a professional, polite manner
  • Communicating clearly with the kitchen and front of house staff
  • Knowledgeable of all ingredient details of every dish on the menu
  • Ability to read food tickets as the come in in English and communicate information to the kitchen staff
  • Ensures compliance with health, sanitation, safety and employment regulations by clearly communicating standards and procedures to all staff
  • Maintains clean and organized back of house areas for the food and beverage operation
  • Other duties as assigned to support the Food & Beverage operation.



  • Experience in full service restaurant is desired
  • Ability to work well under pressure, be professional, efficient, detail-oriented, and courteous
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills
  • Willingness to support multiple managers and employees with restaurant tasks & support as directed
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights & weekends

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to multi-task and prioritize work under time limits and with moderate to high pressure situations.  Position requires constant attention to details of specified standards or written directions including:  following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions.  Position requires frequent use of communication skill with co-workers and management staff in basic English language and some basic reading in English language. Position requires frequent ability to work on a task independently and frequently work as a part of a team for a variety of tasks.  Ability to learn proper sanitation and cleaning techniques.


Physical demands:

While performing duties of the job, the employee will constantly be required to grasp, reach with arms, pull, push and lift.  Employee will frequently be required to climb, stoop, kneel to set-up/teardown events and move product.  Employee will constantly be required to stand and walk to move items around the facility. Employees will frequently be required to lift up to 75 pounds, push/pull up to 150 lbs. Vision requires ability to constantly adjust focus, have depth perception & use of peripheral vision to set-up events and work in a crowded event environment. Ability to frequently hear communication of others is a loud food production environment or event environment.


Work environment:

The duties of this position are performed primarily indoors with some exposure to outdoors on each shift.  Constant exposure to a loud food production environment and moderate to loud event environment.  Exposure to events with thousands of people in attendance.  Exposure to wet floors and crowded workspace.  Exposure to hot plates, dishes and kitchen equipment.
