Provides event and building maintenance, including, but not limited to HVAC, electrical, carpentry, plumbing and ice maintenance.




  • Assumes responsibility for all services and activities involved in maintenance and operations, including HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, chillers, refrigeration, ice making, boilers, and associated equipment.
  • Works with department managers to plan, coordinate, and review the work plan for facility maintenance and operations; assigns work activities, monitors work flow; reviews and evaluates work productivity, methods, and procedures.
  • Maintains hazardous materials communication program, material safety data sheets and required records and permits; maintains knowledge of changes in pertinent Federal, State and Local regulations.
  • Develops and maintains an accurate record keeping system.
  • Orders supplies and materials for maintenance programs within budget guidelines; receives and maintains supplies
  • Responds to service calls
  • Directs supporting personnel in updating equipment logs.
  • Performs and assists craft services such as refrigeration, plumbing, electrical, electronics, minor carpentry and painting.
  • Responds to trouble and emergency situations and supervises tasks necessary for the well being and protection of property and occupants.
  • Performs general work involving sporting events, trade shows, concerts, conventions, family shows, and other events held at the Ranch and Budweiser Events Center.
  • Performs labor to load and unload equipment, as well as, operates equipment and general tools.
  • Works directly with the Larimer County Ranch Fairgrounds coordinators to accommodate all electrical needs during campus wide events
  • Advises Larimer County Ranch Fairgrounds event coordinators and production managers in electrical availability, limitations, and codes.
  • Works with The Ranch Operations personnel to ensure in house preventative maintenance issues are being done over the entire Ranch Fairgrounds campus (i.e. weekly testing of fire pump, monthly test of emergency lighting). Documents findings.
  • Coordinates, installs, and repairs all electrical connections for the Ranch Fairgrounds and Budweiser Events Center major events
  • Schedules, maintains, and repairs all campus wide exterior and interior lighting systems.
  • Creates purchase orders and orders electrical material and equipment for the entire Ranch Fairgrounds complex
  • Performs minor electrical changes and modifications as needed over the entire Ranch complex up to and including the Budweiser Events Center.
  • Works with The Ranch Operations personnel to ensure all third party service contracts for The Ranch are being followed and documented.
  • Schedules and monitors all equipment on the Fire Alarm System throughout the entire Ranch complex and works as liaison between Simplex Grinnell and City of Loveland Fire Department personnel.
  • Makes scheduled equipment rounds and logs pertinent operating data throughout the entire Ranch complex.
  • Continually develops new ways to efficiently run this campus electrically and mechanically.
  • Uses MicroMain data for mechanical work being done across the campus. Used as a resource tool to document all work being done.
  • Develops, implements, documents, and maintains the energy management program for electrical consumption, water and sewer usage and natural gas consumption within the facility.
  • Inspects, monitors, implements and directs the compliance for all governmental requirements within the facility operations functions.



  • Minimum of two (2) years of practical experience troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining large facility HVAC and plumbing equipment and systems.
  • High school diploma, GED, or related trade school training; valid Colorado driver’s license; and interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively with guests, vendors, staff, and other facility users.
  • Be reliable, honest, dependable, and punctual and have strong customer service.
  • Be a self-starter; have ability to take directions; and be able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Be able to climb stairs and ladders; lift and carry equipment and supplies of up to 150 pounds on a regular basis; walk and work on roofs and catwalks over 50 feet high;
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule, mainly nights, and extra hours as needed; and work in varying weather conditions.
  • Technical license preferred.
