As a valuable member of the Ryan Center team, you will assist with all creative projects and venue social media channels as a part-time employee. This position will work closely with the Marketing Manager and Premium Services and Marketing Coordinator to design promotional material, web graphics, ads, and social media content to promote events at the Ryan Center to the University of Rhode Island and local communities. The Ryan Center is a $54 million multi-purpose venue that hosts URI Men’s and Women’s Basketball games, family entertainment, concerts, trade shows, conventions and other community events. Some notable events that have come through the Ryan Center in recent years include: NCAA Women’s Basketball East Regional, Globetrotters, Sesame Street Live, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Snoop Dogg, Dayglow, Jimmy Fallon, Jason Mraz, Jay Leno, AVICII, The Fray, Will Ferrell, Ludacris, Kanye West and Larry The Cable Guy.



  • Develop creative assets for the Ryan Center and its partners in multiple mediums – social media, print collateral, event design, web, etc. using Adobe Photoshop
  • Retouch and edit high-resolution imagery using Adobe Photoshop
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager and Premium Services and Marketing Coordinator in the planning, developing, and implementing of social media channels: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, including utilizing Hootsuite
  • Coordinate paid and non-paid social media campaigns promoting upcoming events
  • Research evolving social media trends and new platforms
  • Participate in select event or game-day activities, promotions, and set-up
  • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • This position is available for class credit. Must maintain a minimum of a 3.2 cumulative GPA required
  • Marketing, Advertising, or Business-related majors preferred, but not required
  • Junior undergraduate standing or above
  • At least two (2) years of experience in graphic design (portfolio will be required)
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects with tight deadlines in a fast-paced team environment
  • Duties must be completed onsite at the Ryan Center during normal business hours with flexibility to work nights, weekends and holidays
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid driver license
  • Highly motivated individual with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Passion for the sports and entertainment industry, a plus
  • A winning, do what it takes, attitude
