Utilizing initiative and independent judgment, the Assistant General Manager assists the General Manager in planning, directing and managing the day-to-day operations of the Miami Beach Convention Center, including sales & marketing, finance, event services, operations, human resources, public safety, production, union related issues, and facility maintenance. Supervision is exercised over professional staff, who directs various sections in day-to-day operations. Responsibility further includes evaluation and development of recommendations to improve organizational administration, procedures, policies, and programs. Unusual problems and major changes in programs or policy are discussed with the General Manager.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Spectra’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding; disciplining employees in conjunction with Human Resources; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
