The Operations Coordinator provides direct supervision to the changeover and cleaning crews for facility functions for all events.
Assume management responsibility for all services and activities involved in the operations of event setup, teardown and custodial
Select, train, motivate and evaluate changeover and cleaning staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures
Ability to follow written instruction, interpret AutoCAD drawings and blueprints
Assign appropriate changeover and custodial personnel to accurately and efficiently set-up, tear down and clean for all event needs
Communicate between shifts the necessary tasks that still need to be completed
Working knowledge of operations equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, staging, retractable seating risers, basketball floors, etc.
Maintains facility storage rooms and custodial equipment
Report primarily in the evening to act as Manager on Duty for all changeover and custodial shifts.
Must be able to attend staff meetings during the week
Perform other duties as assigned
Point person for all equipment rentals including booking, scheduling, staffing, billing and tracking of items
Good working knowledge of audio / video systems
Ensures a flawlessly executed event through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment as listed in the technical qualifications section.
Basic set up and operation of small to large-scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction.
Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues. Handles equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college/university with major coursework in facility management, hospitality management, business management, or related field preferred
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in facility operations preferably with a sports facility, convention center or other multipurpose public assembly facility
Must have a demonstrated ability to function in a fast paced, high-pressure environment and possess superior interpersonal and communication skills
Must be self-motivated and have excellent organizational skills
Possess a working knowledge of audio / video and information technology systems preferred
Ability to work event nights, weekends and holidays as required
Ability to climb stairs and lift 40 lbs, unaided.
