  • Responsibilities

    This is a unique position in which the successful candidate will provide employment and labor law advice and support to the business, as well as work on general corporate and contract matters for the company’s venue management and food and beverage divisions. Responsibilities include the following:
    HR and Labor Related Matters

    • Provide advice and counsel to management and HR professionals on all aspects of day-to-day employment-related matters, including hiring and termination issues, harassment, discrimination and retaliation, leaves of absence, wage and hour issues, restrictive covenants, independent contractor issues and employee investigations

    • Manage outside counsel to represent the company on employment litigation matters, including efficient management of employment litigation costs and outside counsel fees

    • Draft employment agreements and separation agreements.

    • Provide advice regarding employment litigation issues and risk mitigation strategies

    • Conduct internal investigations on alleged discriminatory conduct

    • Develop and advise on employment-related policies

    • Assist HR on negotiating labor agreements

    • Keep abreast of changes in employment and labor laws

    General Corporate Matters


    • Support and counsel Spectra’s food and beverage division with respect to new client agreements and account operating issues
    • Support and counsel Spectra’s managed venues by responding to day-to-day contract and operating issues affecting such venues
    • Review, draft and negotiate contracts and license agreements, including event licenses, vendor/supplier agreements, sponsorship and advertising agreements, team leases, concessions agreements, subcontracts and location agreements
    • Work cooperatively with Risk Management to mitigate legal risk to the company
    • Identify and research legal issues that could impact the company and its activities
    • Perform other related duties as requested


    • Law degree from a top-tier law school. Top 20% of class preferred.
    • Member, in good standing, of the Pennsylvania Bar.
    • 3-7 year’s relevant legal experience with a top-tier law firm and/or in-house legal department.
    • Broad knowledge of employment and labor law
    • Broad knowledge of general business, contract, and commercial law.
    • Superb oral and written communication skills.
    • Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and efficient.
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to project confidence in providing thoughtful and informed counsel to various internal clients
    • Must be able to strike sensible and practical balance between legal risks and achievement of business objectives, and be able to formulate creative solutions to accomplish the company’s goals.
    • Adept at working effectively in a fast-paced, high activity environment, and be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with consistently high quality work product
    • Coupled with strong legal skills, the attorney must exhibit a strong sense of ethics, integrity, and sound judgment.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a small, dedicated, productive and high quality legal team
    • Ability to work independently with little supervision
