  • Overview

    The Dance Team Coach is responsible for the hiring, training and coaching of the dance team for their optimum performance both on the court and at public appearances.

    Responsibilities

    • Establishes and directs audition procedures and conducts interviews for hiring new dance teams on an annual basis
    • Sets rules and regulations for contractual purposes
    • Supervises and directs on-field performance of the Wings Dancers
    • Provides design and ordering procedures for team costumes and uniforms
    • Maintains the professionalism of the dance team by monitoring hair, make-up and physical fitness
    • Provides appropriate choreography, staging formations and oversees all rehearsals
    • Provides music editing and production for in-arena performances and off-site appearances
    • Attends games and monitors quality of performances
    • Works directly with the Live Events Manager to implement production of long-term directives and specific activities for individual game days
    • Formulates strategy, revenue generating ideas, dance-based ticket sales promotions, dance clinics and workshops as well as marketing direction as a member of the Wings Marketing Department
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Live Events Manager

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a related field
    • Minimum of 5 years dance management/coaching experience
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including practices, nights, events, weekends and traditional office hours as required
    • Ability to manage a budget and meet deadlines
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook and Internet Explorer
    • Detail oriented w/ excellent organizational skills
    • Excellent written and verbal skills in the English language
    • Excellent interpersonal skills
    • Strong work ethic
    • Creative and proactive problem solver
