  • Overview

    The Business Development Manager will focus on driving revenue for the Club through traditional and non-traditional partnerships. They will focus on building strategic relationships that result in revenue or expense relieving elements that benefit the club.  The business development manager will find new ways to grow the club through partnerships, outreach, community involvement, digital assets, merchandise, and all other team related elements.  They will have the ability to leverage team assets and be creative in developing business models that benefit partners and the team.


    • Building strategic relationships in the market
    • Research potential partners in the market based on their involvement with other teams, overall income,  and interest in lacrosse
    • Establishing connections with key lacrosse influencers
    • Find new partners in the market that have an interest in lacrosse and the team
    • Attend relevant networking events to help establish the brand of the team
    • Create and pitch packages for potential partners
    • Work with lacrosse operations to find team needs and work with partners to help with expense relieving deals
    • Focus on strong trade deals with local partners and local media to help our money go further in the market
    • Find creative ways to incorporate new inventory and team assets


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, Communications, English, Journalism, or other related field preferred
    • 3+ years of Business Development/Sales experience preferred
    • Must have a thorough understanding of grammar and strong copy writing/editing skills
    • Ability to meet tight deadlines under pressure
    • Ability to successfully balance and oversee several high priority projects at once
    • Ability to successfully complete tasks with minimal supervision
    • Available to work occasional nights and weekend, when necessary
    • High levels of proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and internet research

    Intellectual/Social Demands:
     While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits. Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including: following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. Employees in this role will constantly be in leadership role; this requires directing others either verbally or in writing to complete tasks in prescribed time frame. This position also requires constant use of interpersonal skills including: ability to direct/motivate/inform staff and foster collaboration, being able to recognize and resolve conflicts, being able to openly communicate in writing and verbally with clients.

    Physical Demands:
    • While performing duties of job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally move about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly communicate via telephone, email and in-person with others and exchange accurate information.

    Work Environment:
    • The duties of this position are performed primarily in doors in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal-to-moderate during non-event days and moderate-to-loud during event days.
