    Spectra, an international sports and entertainment firm representing venues, teams, municipalities and world-class events, is seeking a professional sales person to join our growing corporate team.  This exciting position will be responsible for generating revenue from local, regional and national companies through the sale of integrated sponsorship packages for one of the most successful and exciting venues in the Pacific Northwest.  The Director of Sales will sell fully integrated marketing, media and promotional programs that include marketing rights, naming and sub-naming rights, on premise signage, event sponsorships, promotions, premium seating elements and oversee the Conference Center sales for Angel Of The Winds Arena.

     

    This position will report directly to the General Manager ensuring the sales team works to meet all individual and department sales goals for sponsorship revenue, premium seating, group sales and Convention Center sales revenue. This position will be responsible for overseeing and training all departmental staff including Corporate Sales Manager, Conference Center Sales Manager and Group Sales Coordinator.

     

    Responsibilities

     

    • Assume management responsibility for all services and activities of the Sales department including sponsorship, group sales, conference center sales, proposals, sales calls and contracts
    • Monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures; assess and monitor workload, administrative and support systems, and internal reporting relationships; identify opportunities for improvement and review with the General Manager; implement improvements
    • Responsible for selecting, training, motivating, evaluating and managing all sales positions. Work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline and termination procedures
    • Participate in the development of the annual budget then oversee and manage budget for Sponsorship/Premium Seating and Conference Center Sales including forecasting
    • Maintain weekly revenue reporting for current and future years; identify areas of strength and weakness, and potential shortfalls
    • Involved in selling and managing all aspects of sponsorship, and premium seating for the Angel Of The Winds Arena, including contract fulfillment and follow up
    • Managing day-to-day operations of the department; on-going solicitation of corporations and other group organizations for the purpose of creating new business
    • Oversee all coordination of all customer service programs
    • Responsible for continuous development of new and creative ways to market shows and events to group clients
    • Contribute to and participate in settlement with show promoters and tenants
    • Conduct an aggressive face to face appointment campaign
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of sales related collateral materials
    • Actively participate in community functions, events and meetings
    • Oversee all event night responsibilities; act as Manager on Duty as required
    • Provide responsible staff assistance to the General Manager as necessary; prepare and present staff reports and other related correspondence
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

     

    Qualifications

     

    • Bachelor’s degree required
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, preferably with a sports facility, convention center, performing arts facility or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
    • Understand the organization and operation of the facility and outside agencies as necessary to assume assigned responsibilities
    • Principles and practices of accounting including budget preparation and control
    • Principles and supervision, training and performance evaluation
    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong leadership, organizational and computer skills required
    • Strong work ethic – self-directed learner.
    • Creative and proactive problem solver.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and selected holidays
    • Goal oriented with proven sales ability
