  • Overview

    The Concessions Lead must provide a high level of event oversight, technical proficiency and operational/personnel support to ensure the smooth running of any assigned event.

     

    The Concessions Lead will actively coach, counsel, direct, train and mentor employees in meeting company quality standards. The Concessions Lead will provide oversight and resolution recommendations for employee performance issues regarding alcohol service and customer service initiatives. The Concessions Lead will actively supervise all aspects of employee relations to ensure a positive, harmonious, compliant and cooperative work environment.

     

    This is a key position for the effective and profitable operation of the business. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work a variable event-driven schedule which to evenings and weekends. Open availability, professional presentation, outstanding interpersonal skills, and self-direction required

     

    Responsibilities

    • Directly oversee the operation of a Concession Stand.
    • Work directly with Area Supervisors, Cook Leads, NFP Leaders and Cashiers.  
    • Train staff during games on customer service techniques.
    • Conduct pre-event shift meeting.
    • Review all alcohol service policies with team members.   Monitor alcohol service throughout event to assure 100% compliance with Alcohol Service policies. Report any alcohol service or compliance issues to Spectra management immediately.
    • Provide on-going direction, supervision and mentoring to hourly event staff. Monitor product quality and ensure high level of guest service.
    • Enforce all Spectra and venue policies and procedures as they relate to guest satisfaction, quality standards, uniform policy, safety, and quality presentation.
    • Assist in troubleshooting technical problems with Point of Sale Systems (Quest), from both a hardware and software perspective.
    • Insure all staff are in their scheduled placement and that all points of sale are staffed and operational.
    • Willing to cover any open position to assure location is fully operational and company standards pertaining to speed of service and guest satisfaction are met.
    • Complete pre and post-event counts for assigned stand location, and enter inventory counts into Bypass.
    • Ensure work environment is safe and free from harassment or discrimination; immediately address all safety concerns, potential hazards, accidents or incidents. Relay safety/health issues to management immediately.

    Qualifications

    • Ability to communicate with employees, co-workers, volunteers, management staff and guests in a clear, professional and courteous manner which fosters a positive, enthusiastic and cooperative work environment.
    • Ability to make sound business/operations decisions (i.e. regarding employee placement, staffing adjustments, and/or respond to technical, product or equipment challenges during an event) quickly and under pressure.
    • Ability to speak, read, and write in English.
    • Ability to work well in a team-oriented, fast-paced, event-driven environment.
    • Possess thorough working knowledge of all applicable sanitation requirements, food preparation guidelines, alcohol service policies, safety standards, etc. pertaining to Spectra and venue concession operations.
    • Ability to consistently adhere to the highest standards of integrity, professionalism, ethics and confidentiality.

    Education and Experience:

    • Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Physical Dimensions:

     

    Performing the duties of this position involves extensive and continuous standing and walking. The Concessions Lead is present in the Concession Stand for much of the event, in addition to pre- and post-event.  Routine activities require the employee to be able to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.  The employee is frequently required to lift up to 50 pounds.  The vision requirements include the ability to adjust focus, peripheral vision and close vision.
