  • Overview

    This role will be responsible for the development and fundraising functions of Flyers Charities and its initiatives. The ideal candidate will combine a passion for fundraising and strong development skillset with the ability to build and cultivate relationships in a non-profit environment. This role will work in collaboration with the Vice President to create and execute an annual development plan which increases revenue, brand awareness and community impact to support the strategic direction of Flyers Charities.


    • Identify, organize and manage the fundraising activities with a focus on both retention and new opportunities to obtain ongoing and increased support from sponsors, corporations and individuals.
    • Lead execution of fundraising initiatives to meet revenue and attendance goals.
    • Work closely with the Vice President in cultivating donors, creating valuable funding and partnership opportunities and strengthening the Flyers Charities impact throughout the community.
    • Lead the implementation of donor recognition and stewardship activities, including sponsor fulfillment for all department initiatives.
    • Oversee Salesforce integration with department to provide necessary revenue and donor status reports.
    • Manage auction program from auction creation to fulfillment in creating a reliable and sustainable revenue stream.
    • Assist with 50/50 raffle program sales training and management of game-day staff and operations.
    • Demonstrate exceptional selling and upselling skills and knowledge of all charitable events and initiatives.
    • Provide weekly and monthly reports to the Vice President which measure progress towards achieving fundraising goals.
    • Assist with implementation of direct marketing initiatives, including, but not limited to, email blasts and group mailing specific to donor related communications and department collateral.
    • Provide friendly, donor-centered customer service and represent the organization and our mission in a professional and positive manner.
    • Support Charities and Flyers staff as needed.


    • Strong non-profit development experience.
    • Ability to manage and grow revenue goals.
    • Minimum of five to seven years of experience in non-profit development environment at a manager-level or above.
    • Established connections in the non-profit community.
    • Knowledge in non-profit organizational structure, culture, and board development.
    • Capable of working with all levels of management
    • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time while meeting all deadlines.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Proficient in Windows environment with strong MS-Office skills, Excel, Salesforce and other computer programs and fundraising software.
    • Must be able to work a flexible schedule (beyond normal business hours). Including Flyers games and charitable events. Nights and weekends included, along with select holidays. Five day work schedule with normal 9-5 hours during off-season and non-game/event days.
