  • Overview

    The Macon Centreplex is comprised of the Macon Coliseum and Macon City Auditorium.  

     

    The 9,000-capacity Macon Coliseum is the entertainment center for Macon and Middle Georgia’s 30 surrounding counties. Built in 1968 and most recently renovated in 2015, it was the first facility of its size and type in Georgia and has housed full-house crowds for greats such as Elvis, The Jacksons, Billy Joel, Reba McEntire, and Little Richard!

     

    Completed in 1925, the Macon City Auditorium is nestled in the historic district of downtown Macon and is a landmark listed in the National Register of Historic Places.     Responsibilities

    • Works closely with the Director of Marketing with the sales and marketing aspects for the venue and events
    • Solicits new business opportunities for Group Sales department.
    • Promotes Group Sales for selected events
    • Assist in development and implementation all aspects of sales plans for events
    • Achieve/exceed assigned sales goals
    • Works with promoters on group sales plans and budgets
    • Assist with development and implementation of revenue and expense budget for group sales department
    • Track and manage weekly sales reports
    • Responsible for continuing development and creation of new revenue streams for Group Sales
    • Execute event responsibilities as required
    • Assist Marketing staff with projects involving research and design
    • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of grassroots marketing plans
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing and sales campaigns to maximize event awareness and exposure
    • Organize marketing & sales presentations
    • Develop promotions and day of event activities
    • Develop brochures and collateral materials

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college/university with major coursework in Business, Communications, Marketing, Facility/Sports Management or other related field
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments efficiently and effectively under strict deadlines
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and select holidays as required, in addition to traditional business hours
    • Previous sales/marketing experience with an arena, convention center, hotel or other similar public assembly facility
