    The Lead Facility Specialist directs staff in the completion of event setup, tear-down activities and maintenance duties, including Housekeeping staff.  In the absence of the Operations Manager, the Facility Lead may receive instruction from the Director of Operations, Director of Event Services.

    Responsibilities

    • Direct and communicate tasks to large staff and frequently monitor performance and progress.
    • Schedule, direct, train and manage the work of the scheduled facilities personnel.
    • Set-up and tear down exhibit halls, meeting rooms with a variety of equipment, including, but not limited to chairs, tables, staging, risers, trash cans, dance floors, coat racks, table skirting, carpet, pipe & drape, plywood, field covers and tarps.
    • Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
    • Report defective equipment, facility damage, areas of the facility requiring cleaning and incorrect or improper set-ups to supervisors in a timely manner.
    • Perform facility maintenance tasks as assigned.
    • Provide excellent customer service assistance to internal and external clients.

    Qualifications

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to create, prioritize and achieve goals for staff on a daily basis, in spite of urgent completing demands.
    • Ability to develop results oriented staff through effective training, motivation and coaching.
    • Work from general instructions and specifications, with minimal supervision.
    • Work effectively in a fast paced service oriented environment subject to frequently changing priorities.
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, contractors and facility users.

     

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • Supervisory or Lead experience required
    • High school diploma or equivalent GED. Equivalent experience may be substituted.
    • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid state driver’s license.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, days, evenings, overnight, weekends, holidays, extended (long) work days and extended numbers of days.
