    The XL Center is Connecticut’s premier destination for sports & entertainment.  The 16,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleven-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the four-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team. Led by Hall of Fame basketball Head Coach Geno Auriemma and Dan Hurley, the Men's & Women's basketball programs have established themselves as national powerhouses.  The XL Center is also home to the AHL’s Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers.     The Operations Coordinator will direct and oversee setups, changeovers and other operational tasks in the facility/facilities.

    • Coordinate and communicate all relevant information for event set ups, changeovers, and operational tasks throughout the facility.
    • Supervise event set-ups, changeovers, custodial tasks.
    • Conduct meetings prior to each shift in order to review and/or distribute work assignments.
    • Train, schedule and supervise part time and/or contract staff.
    • Ensure employees have the equipment and resources to perform the job efficiently.
    • Coordinate preventive and regular maintenance for all equipment and company vehicles (including truck, fork lifts, etc.).
    • Assist Operations Department with special projects as required
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.


    • Bachelor's Degree in Facility Mgmt, Sports Mgmt or related field strongly preferred
    • Minimum of (2) years experience in an Arena, Convention Center or Public Assembly Facility required; previous experience in set up/housekeeping, event coordination preferred
    • Possession of or ability to obtain valid driver’s license and forklift certification
    • Demonstrated ability to function efficiently and effectively in a fast paced, high pressure environment
    • Familiarity with OSHA requirements
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in the English language
    • Ability to multitask under time limits
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and select holidays as needed, in addition to traditional business hours
    • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Audio-Visual components will be considered a plus.
