    The Group Sales Coordinator will sell and service new and existing group sales accounts, generate new ideas to increase ticket sales, and execute basic office tasks as needed.

     

    The XL Center is Connecticut’s premier destination for sports & entertainment. The 16,000+ seat downtown arena is home to the eleven-time National Champion UConn Women's Basketball team and the four-time National Champion UConn Men's Basketball team.     Responsibilities

    • Assist Director with the sales, marketing and solicitation of new business opportunities for the Group Sales Department
    • Use telemarketing as a tool to sell group tickets
    • Call past customers and new customers to generate group ticket revenue
    • Handle incoming sales calls from prospective clients
    • Establish professional relationships in order to create repeat business and superior customer service
    • Utilize and maintain effective contacts (sales leads) through the use of our CRM –Salesforce
    • Manage organization of Group Sales database
    • Assist Director with group sales campaigns and initiatives to increase ticket sales
    • Track and manage weekly sales reports
    • Administer event night reports and sales settlements
    • Assist with Supervising Group Sales Interns and coordinate their efforts for the department
    • Responsible for making 60+ phone calls and setting appointments to achieve overall sales goals and objectives
    • Conduct inside & outside appointments to gain group business with new and existing customers
    • Meet or exceed appointed sales goals for all group ticket packages
    • Staff all events to assist with running of group assets, meet with current clients, and gain new group business
    • Handle special projects related to the department as assigned

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or better from an accredited college or university with major course work in marketing, communications, sports management or other related field
    • Minimum of 1 year sales experience, preferably in a sports/entertainment group sales focus, required
    • Familiarity with Paciolan and Salesforce.com (CRM) preferred; proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word and Outlook is required
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language required
    • Demonstrated ability to manage numerous relationships in a professional manner
    • Superior time management skills and presentation skills
    • Must possess attention to detail, organization and ability to listen
    • Must be professionally aggressive, competitive, and possess a dedicated attitude
    • Must be highly motivated and positive with strong aspirations to be successful
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed, in addition to traditional business hours
