    The Group Sales Manager is responsible for daily operations including sales calls, making client appointments and achieving sales goals. Accountable for soliciting, managing and maintaining Group Sales accounts. Markets and sells concerts, family shows, and sporting events.


    The Alaska Airlines Center is a 5,000-seat multi-purpose arena in Anchorage, Alaska. Located on the campus of the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and adjacent to Providence Alaska Medical Center (PAMC). The arena replaces the Wells Fargo Sports Complex as the home of UAA's athletic department and programs, including UAA Seawolves basketball and volleyball teams.

    • Work with Director of Marketing and General Manager to develop Group Sales opportunities for venue tenants, promoters and self-promoted events
    • Assist in creation and implementation of all aspects of ticketed event sales plans
    • Assist with development and implementation of revenue and expense budget for group sales department
    • Responsible for continuing development and creation of new revenue streams for Group Sales
    • Work with promoters on group sales plans and budgets
    • Develop promotions and day of event activities
    • Work closely with the Director of Marketing on sales, marketing, and event development projects
    • Assist Director of Marketing with social media development, web design and marketing research
    • Execute event responsibilities as required for major ticketed events
    • Produce brochures and collateral materials
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of marketing and sales campaigns to maximize event awareness and exposure
    • Assist in negotiating, closing and implementing media, promotional partner, and sponsorship deals
    • Assist in the creation and implementation of grassroots marketing plans
    • Track and manage weekly sales reports
    • Actively participate in brainstorming sessions
    • Schedule, train and supervise part time, intern and volunteer sales and event staff
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with major coursework in Business, Communications, Marketing, or other related field
    • Experience and demonstrated aptitude in social media development and analytics
    • Photoshop
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in the English language
    • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments efficiently and effectively under strict deadlines
    • Ability to work nights, weekends and select holidays as required, in addition to traditional business hours
    • Previous sales/marketing experience with an arena, convention center, hotel or other similar public assembly facility preferred
