  • Overview

    This position will be based at the Wells Fargo Center  in Philadelphia, PA.  The Human Resources Generalist provides administrative, technical and specialized support to prorate and field human resources departments (e.g. correspondence generation, employee records, job classification, employee relations).  Coordinates and reviews new hire information and assists with the onboarding process.  Works closely with other departments (payroll, benefits administration, finance, IT, sales marketing, etc.).

    • Coordinates the preparation, recording maintenance and reporting of data related to the HR department PTO and personnel information (personnel and personnel files, HRIS input and maintenance) in an accurate, complete, organized, and legally compliant manner;
    • Ensures complete confidentiality and security of personal/private/protected employee information, including background screen info, medical info, investigatory files, etc.;
    • Supports the HR team with scheduling meetings, updating policies and procedures, maintaining company websites, and best practices administration;
    • HR Helpdesk, answers general questions, compiles and reviews new hire documents; facilitates the onboarding process;
    • Performance Management; assists in the administration of Performance Pro;
    • Administers the Employee Service Awards Program quarterly, and Employee Recognition Program annually;
    • Provides technical support and backup in such personnel areas as employee records, payroll documents, classification, compensation, and benefits administration;
    • Reviews background checks within 48 business hours, approves or declines based upon company parameters;
    • Exercises tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive, complex and confidential personnel issues;
    • Prepares clear, concise, timely reports, correspondence and other written materials;
    • Establishes and maintains effective, positive working relationships with those contacted in the course of work;
    • Assists with handling of employee relations issues including performance evaluation, disciplinary action, conflict resolution and succession planning;
    • Responds to employee inquiries regarding policy or rule application in a timely, professional, courteous and helpful manner;
    • Handles all mail administration including; unemployment wage requests, and state employment verification requests;
    • Owns the ADP UCM unemployment process to include keeping the contact list up to date, delegating claims to the correct venue, processing of unemployment forms and wage audits;
    • Is thoroughly familiar with regulatory and company policies and procedures, and assists in the implementation and interpretation of these policies, procedures and practices;
    • Assists with special HR projects, as directed by the VP of Human Resources.



    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:


    • Demonstrates leadership skills; communicates tactfully and effectively, both verbally and in writing;
    • Knowledge of principles, procedures, legal compliance requirements, and best practices for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, conflict resolution and HRIS applications;
    • Knowledge of general business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, and coordination of people and resources;
    • Must be able to develop constructive, positive and cooperative working relationships with others and maintain them over time;
    • Knowledge of payroll and personnel record keeping regulations, principles and best practices;
    • Ability to adhere to highest standards of professionalism, discretion and confidentiality;
    • Strong working knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS) applications;
    • Working knowledge of federal, state and local employment/labor laws and regulations;
    • Intermediate to Advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook);
    • Solid organizational skills; ability to prioritize multiple tasks; project management skills;
    • Ability to represent oneself and the company in a professional and positive manner in all situations;
    • Working knowledge of HR best practices, including industry-specific HR best practices;
    • Versed in proper office/organizational/business etiquette.



    Education and Experience:


    • Bachelor of Arts / Sciences degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, related major or equivalent experience (preferred)
    • Minimum 5 years diversified HR experience
    • Specialized professional training a plus (PHR or SPHR preferred)
