    Utilizing independent judgment, the Director of Marketing is primarily responsible for overseeing the strategic approach to marketing and promotion of concerts, events, and shows at City Springs, while developing creative marketing campaigns that promote public/community awareness for the facility and brand. He/she is responsible for maintaining relationships with media partners, and ensuring fulfillment of contracts while overseeing the media buying and billing process. The director must be capable of establishing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with a number of key stakeholders, including a number of client, community, and media contacts.

     

    The director will oversee all marketing activities, and will be responsible for driving efforts to reach budget goals and generate revenue for the facility. The director will oversee the work of the Marketing Manager in developing and implementing marketing plans for the facility and events, managing event advertising budgets/promotions, and assisting in developing new events for the facility. City Springs consists of the 1,100-seat Byers Theatre, 400-seat Studio Theatre, Conference Center and Rooftop Terrace bar, City Green, and CityBar.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversee the marketing department in the creation and execution of all marketing plans and activities; ensure the development, implementation, and reconciliation of comprehensive strategic marketing programs; supervise the work of a full-time marketing manager.
    • Work collaboratively with the City’s in-house creative team on the development of marketing concepts, creative and public relations activities. 
    • Develop, direct, coordinate, and review the strategic plan for providing marketing services, in close coordination with the client and key stakeholders
    • Develop new marketing programs and initiatives to maximize ticket sales, such as third party partnerships, new media avenues, and non-traditional marketing opportunities for City Springs and its events
    • Direct promotional efforts related to in-house Food and Beverage services for event concessions, catering services, and specialty F&B locations on the property (CityBar. and Rooftop Terrace)
    • Oversee the creative direction of advertising and collateral materials, including fliers, newsletters, websites, digital signage content, posters, postcards, and email blasts in close coordination with the client
    • Develop, monitor, and evaluate annual marketing budget; set and manage achievement of department and facility objectives; track, analyze and compare event sales information
    • Create and foster relationships both locally and nationally to successfully implement and promote self-created events from start to finish
    • Oversee day-to-day digital marketing program, including but not limited to: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Website, Facility Email Program, SEO, Google Analytics, etc.
    • Oversee public relations efforts for the facility, in close coordination with the City of Sandy Springs Communications Department. Serve as the key media contact related to events and programming at the facility.
    • Oversee event day activities including but not limited to: pre-event or on-site promotions, meet and greets, and media
    • Track, analyze and compare event sales information to provide real time event sales reports and financial projections for future events
    • Explore non-traditional marketing opportunities for the facility and its events
    • Oversee event settlement packets, including collecting invoices, coding, and creating a back-up packet
    • Oversee preparation of monthly corporate marketing reports and participate in monthly conference calls with other Spectra entities
    • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations that foster lasting partnerships while driving marketing and sales efforts
    • Negotiate advertising and media-related sponsorship agreements; communicate regularly with media partners to maintain cooperative, positive relationships
    • Communicate clearly and concisely in the English language, both orally and in writing
    • Coordinate team efforts with other departments to implement marketing ideas/tasks; promote positive attitude and company principles within department and facility
    • Perform all other duties as required

       Essential Sales Job Functions:           

    • Support the work of sponsorship sales partners in securing sponsorships for the facility and events
    • Work with Director of Programming and other stakeholders to develop in-house event opportunities
    • Assist the Director of Programming in researching potential artists for the facility to determine viability and assess risk levels

    Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree or better from an accredited college or university with major coursework in marketing, public relations, business administration, or other related field
    • Minimum of 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in sales and/or marketing required, preferably with a performing arts facility, theater, arena, or other multi-purpose public assembly facility
    • Minimum of 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience with media buying and promotions
    • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive, cooperative working relationships
    • Knowledge of marketing and advertising/sponsorship program development
    • Knowledge of Public Relations
    • Knowledge of social media platforms including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram
    • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and word processing, spreadsheets, database, presentation, graphic design, PowerPoint and Internet software
    • Familiarity with publishing software such as Microsoft Publisher, Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop
