    The Ted Constance Convocation Center is seeking an Operations Supervisor who will supervise and coordinate Arena, Foreman Field, and Multi-Purpose Hall conversions, oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and managing of operations staff, and assist Facility Engineer with the daily maintenance operations of the building such as painting, small repairs, changing light bulbs, etc.

    Responsibilities

    • Supervise and coordinate Arena, Foreman Field, and Multi-Purpose Hall conversions (basketball to concert, trade shows, small meetings, etc.)
    • Oversee hiring, training, scheduling, and managing of changeover staff and housekeeping staff.
    • Inventory materials and janitorial supplies to secure properly equipped
    • Manage housekeeping services for the facility overnight
    • Assist Facility Engineer with the daily maintenance operations of the building such as painting, small repairs, changing light bulbs, etc.
    • Organize all Arena storage rooms to be in neat and working order.
    • Maintain all Arena event equipment (staging, basketball equipment, etc.)
    • Other Duties as Assigned

     

    Qualifications

    • Degree in sports management or other related fields and have experience with facility coordination and direct employee supervision.
    • Strong leadership and organizational skills and be able to function in a multi-task environment.
    • Strong written and oral communication skills are vital.
    • Must be able to lift and carry at least 40 pounds.
    • Forklift certification required. Aerial lift certifications preferred.

       PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

       

    • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly operates a computer and other office devices such telephones, copy machines, fax machines, etc; occasionally moves about inside the office to access storage areas, cabinets and office machinery; constantly moves about the arena and event sites before, during and after events to service clients and supervise staff; constantly communicates via telephone, email and in-person with others to exchange accurate information.
    • While performing the essential functions of the job, the employee constantly moves about the event site before/during/after events and lifts, pulls, holds, pushes and places heavy objects; constantly is required to exchange accurate information verbally.

      WORK ENVIRONMENT:

       

    • The essential functions of this position are usually performed indoors and occasionally outdoors in the weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environments is usually moderate to loud during events and when setting up/breaking down equipment, and minimal during non-events and when not setting up/breaking down equipment.
