    This position is based at our Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell location. The Tsongas Center is located in Lowell, MA. The facility is home to the University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks Ice Hockey program which competes in the Hockey East Association as well as the host of University of Massachusetts Lowell River Hawks Men’s and Women’s Basketball games who compete in the America East Conference.  The Tsongas Center, which seats up to 7,500, is the site of major concerts and other public events in addition to the many sporting events


    Under the leadership of the Associate AD of Marketing & Promotions and the Director of Ticketing, Marketing and Sales, the Sales Representative is responsible for the generation of ticket sales revenue and for assisting with all aspects of the annual season and group ticket sales campaigns.  Including but not limited to Full Seasons, Partial Plans, and Groups for UML Hockey, and Men’s and Women’s Basketball as well as family shows at the Tsongas Center.  In addition, this position will also learn and at times manage functions of the box office for assigned events.  This position supervises part-time sales representatives and at times box office cashiers.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for producing the maximum revenue for UMass Lowell Basketball and Hockey through the sale of ticket packages (seasons, partial, groups, etc)
    • Responsible for communicating to clients and prospects through various means including direct contact, corporate partner gatherings, etc.
    • Meet with event clients prior to events in determining event needs, oversee related staff and provide information and direction to in-house departments and support staff.
    • Knowledgeable in all UMass Lowell Hockey and Basketball product lines including season plans, partial plans, and premium seating group packages.
    • Recruits, hires and trains all Sales Representatives.
    • Assist with coordinating campaign schedule to ensure complete prospecting canvas of all products.
    • Manages all database information listings acquired through various entities through CRM database.
    • Assist with closing business, sales calls and appointments.
    • Responsible for handling customer challenges and/or concerns as they relate to sales made by the department.
    • Assists with requests for additional support staffing for outside events and games.
    • Personally Selling.
    • Assist Associate AD and Director of Ticketing, Marketing, & Sales plan to increase Ticket Revenue.
    • Prepare sales material and collateral.
    • Research and implement “best practices” of sales events by networking with other sports teams.
    • Manage Box Office as requested.
    • Assist with marketing team as requested.
    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Sports Management, or Business-Related field required
    • Familiarity with Customer Database Management Software (Salesforce preferred).
    • Minimum of one (1) year sales, promotional, or fundraising experience with a collegiate and/or professional sports team including some supervisory experience
    • Ability to travel and work nights, weekends and select holidays, in addition to traditional business hours, is required
    • Excellent organizational skills and customer service skills required
    • Proven ability to work in a team environment yet capable of completing tasks independently
    • Positive thinker required
    • Enthusiastic, motivator and sales professional required
    • Excellent knowledge of PC systems including Word, Excel, and database management software
    • Ticketing software knowledge a plus (preferably Paciolan)
