Our Event Staff members will greet guests, check tickets and direct fans with the primary focus of providing the best possible experience from entrance to exit! The Event Staff Team Member position requires the flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Our Event Staff team is a critical role in the overall fan experience and is committed to providing all our guests with a safe, pleasant, and memorable experience during ODU Men’s and Women’s Basketball Games as well as all other events at Chartway Arena. As a valued member of the Event Staff, you will our frontline employees as the first individuals guest see upon entering our arena. You will greet guests, check tickets, and direct fans with the primary focus of providing the best possible experience from entrance to exit.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $12.50.

The Summer Intern will have the unique opportunity in getting to see the ins and outs of all aspects of running both our arena and theatre. The12 week program is designed to have the intern immerse themselves in a new branch of the arena machine every two weeks; to include Events, Operations, Box Office, Marketing, Premium/Partnerships and Finance/Booking. This will allow the intern to see how each department runs separately and how each plays a vital role in making all events a success.

The Catering Manager will manage and oversee all aspects of events in the FMPAC from initial introductions, on-site walk-throughs, proposal creation and negotiation, final invoice management and collection of payment for receptions and event catering. This position will also handle sales and customer service issues including providing outstanding customer service; researching, resolving, and clarifying invoice and proposal questions; and providing knowledgeable and appropriate suggestions regarding catering and bar selections. The Catering Manager maintains a consistently positive and professional relationship with internal and external clients. The Manager will facilitate the flow of information internally, as well as communicate with all guests and vendors. Must be available to execute the event from set-up, food and beverage presentation, serving, and cleanup while focusing on detail, quality presentation and staff management.
The Catering Manager will also be responsible, as needed, for concessions management and the Hippodrome Theatre and the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall.
